Problems with Rain-X July 21, 2010 Shelly Yivrakes (New York, NY) I used Rain-X many years ago and had a problem that created a very real driving hazard. I applied the product as directed. I recall doing a great deal of "buffing" of the windshield after the application in order to apply it correctly. The window looked transparent and I waited for a rainy day to test out the product. After a few days it rained and, yes, the water beaded and moved to the sides. The problem I had is when I used my windshield wipers, dust particals seemed to have built up and were adhering to the rain-X product and staying on the windshield. The movement of the wipers just kept moving dust back and forth, but the dust never was removed from the windshield. It was as if the dust was susspended in the rain-X film. This caused a very severe obstruction of my vision. I recall it took quite awhile to remove this chemical product from my windshield and afterward my wipers worked normally. Am I the only person who has had this problem? I have read some excellent reviews of Rain-X and am perplexed that I have not seen anyone who has encountered a similar experience.
Really works May 4, 2010 Scott (NJ) I've been using this product for over 15 years and it really works and helps keep your windshield and windows clear. Of course you still should use the wipers but on those super downpour days this really shows how great it works by keeping water from building up. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because in my experience after you treat the windows and then buff them clean, usually you have to re buff them once or twice more the next day to get the cloudiness off. I find this works best with a good microfiber cloth (not the cheap dollar store kind). I also use this on my side mirrors to help with water build up..great product, oh and spray your cloth not the windows, a little goes a long way!!

Awesome - Must have for every car April 3, 2010 Pavan Lanka (West Chester, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Rain-X speaks for itself.
The use case I subjected the treatment to was as follows:
Terrible weather with a lot of rain.
Windshield already wet with rain drops.
Spray the treatment on the windshield as is.
Wipe it with a paper towel.
But amazing results and worked like a dream.
Nothing beats Rain-X March 27, 2010 Steve (Santa Cruz, California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you don't use Rain-X on your car windows you're missing out on one of the greatest inventions. I rarely have to put my wipers on full throttle, mostly intermittent. On the freeway in light-med rain water beads and runs off, no wipers. At first it appears you're inside a Seven-Up bottle looking out as the windshield "fizzes", then water droplets beads and runs off over the top. A quick swipe of the wipers leaves the glass clean with zero streaks. I use it on all the glass not just the front windshield. Rain-X keeps the side windows "clear" of rain water improving visibility even in the worst of North Calif storms.
